Ordinary Day.... New Monthly Dare, Challenge Winners & Updates!

Hello friends! It's Karla here today to announce our new theme this month and let you know about a couple changes. Kim is working hard to create all the fabulous products you know and love Emerald Creek Craft Supplies for, and I'm taking over just one of her small tasks to make that a little bit easier for her - so I'm going to be sharing the first of the month post as well as announcing the previous month's winners. This year we are focusing our Dare Challenges around some of Kim's favourite songs, and this month that song is Ordinary Day by Great Big Sea. Since I am originally from the East Coast this is definitely a song that is close to my heart!

Our March Dare is to challenge you to create a project that is inspired by an Ordinary Day, or maybe even your Best or Worst day! Click the link below to listen to this awesome song.

For this challenge I decided to create a baby card since having my three girls is definitely up there on my list of Best Days!

I used the beautiful Baked Velvet Lime powder from Seth Apter's Mediterranean Kit to emboss the wonderfully detailed Vintage Pram (see product links at bottom) and layered it over a stenciled and embossed background.

The Gold Doubloon embossing powder worked beautifully to emboss a stamped sentiment as well as create a matching border around the edge of the card. I really love the sweet button brads from the EC Shop!

I added some Simple Stories diecut ephemera and Buttons Galore sequin mix embellishments to finish off the card inside and out.

I just love the sweet soft look of the greens and blues combined to create this card!

Click the Video below to see all the fun techniques I used for this sweet card!
