Beach... by Stephanie

Hello everyone! Stephanie here to share my Beach Themed Artist Training Coins for this months challenge. I created two ATCoins featuring several Emerald Creek Craft Supplies including stamps and embossing powders. Artist trading coins are 2.5 inches. They are so much fun to make and trade with other artists especially when they are created with amazing Emerald Creek embossing powders!

I began by stamping the seahorse and crab onto watercolor paper and then punching them out with a 2.5 inch circle punch. Afterwards I painted them with some handmade artisan watercolor paints.

After each coin was painted and dry I began adding the good stuff...Dirty Sand EC Baked Texture Embossing Powder! I mean you have to have sand for the beach right?! It amazes me how closely it matches real sand!

A little Deep Sea embossing powder on the seahorse belly to add some depth. I then added some Charred Gold EC Embossing Powder to a real starfish to complete the seahorse coin.

The crab coin is accented with Chunky Rust, Deep Sea, Dirty Sand and Vintage Beeswax  Embossing Powders. I wish I could get a better photo to show just how awesome and textured this coin is.

I love how the addition of Vintage Beeswax gives it that vintage feel and seals the watercolor to prevent damage.

All of the embossing powders below where used to create these coins.

Beach... by Claudia

I love the beach! Taking a long stroll along a sandy beach just makes me happy. It fills my heart with joy to feel the waves crushing at my feet and the sand between my toes. I love to hunt for ocean treasures that have been washed upon the shore and as someone who is used to lakes being surrounded by mountains close by, I always enjoy the endlessness of the horizon, the typical seaside smell and sounds. I treasure these impressions deep in my heart, but I also tried to capture some beach love on my little canvas!

Happy holidays, wherever you are!

Beach... by Josefine

Hi everyone and welcome to our July challenge. This month's theme is all about beaches, so I decided to create a nautical themed canvas with a little twist. Emerald Creek has a huge variety of stamps and I had the "Out the Back Door" stamp laying around. The perfect stamp for a beach scene ;) well, a snarky beach scene.

I started by coloring a canvas in a variety of blue shades. An easy way of adding the color is to put little drops all over the canvas and then brush the paint from left to right - not mixing it up too much.

Next, I added a few bubbles to the background by blending Versamark ink through the Retreat Circle stencil and adding Deep Sea embossing powder all over the canvas. Obviously, some areas of paint weren't entirely dry yet, so the powder ended up all over the canvas. But to be honest, I actually liked it. Then I adhered a few fishes to the background that I cut out from a napkin.

Then I mixed Candy Orange and Dirty Sand, stamped the "Out the Back Door" stamp with Versamark ink on a scrap piece of paper and embossed it with the mix of embossing powder.

I created the actual beach by adding Dirty Sand to the bottom of the canvas. I mixed it with a little Patina Oxide and carefully melted several layers of both together. At the end I adhered the house to the beach and surrounded it with seashells and stones. Because the adhesive was showing between all of them, I added more Patina Oxide and Dirty Sand all over it.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to join our challenge :)

Happy holidays, wherever you are!

Beach... by Karla

Hi friends! Karla back today with another take on our Beach Themed Challenge this month - I've created a beachy layout using lots of beautiful Emerald Creek Craft Supplies embossing powders. I love putting a little extra texture and bling on my layouts, and these powders just push that to the next level!

I used some cutfiles from the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog for my title, the waves and the seashells. One of the my favourite techniques is using embossing powders on cutfiles. The Baked Texture Patina Oxide Embossing Powder has such a gorgeous blueish patina and worked perfectly to coat my shells and the edges of some Canvas Corp seashell paper cut with a stitched circle diecut.

This sweet Emerald Creek Camera Charm works so great layered over the papers and a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Snarky sentiment sticker pad.

I really love the texture and colour of the Baked Texture Dirty Sand Embossing Powder. It actually resembles sand you'd find at the beach with a bit of glitz!

I finished off with some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins layered over the Wild Whisper Wild Whimsy papers.

Here's a look at the process video where you can see how much fun I had completing this page and playing with these gorgeous powders.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to link up your own 'Beach' project featuring anything beach related - shells, water, sand... we'd love to see what you come up with - see below for details! Have a wonderful, craft week ahead <3

Check out her blog post for her creative expressions

Mermaid Fin - I love the glittery colors!!!! Just like a mermaid fin should look like! SOOOO much sparkle it's amazing! Glittery blues and greens!

Dragons Egg - This is so cool - it looks like mica powder at first but when you heat it up it bubbles and transforms it looks like dragon skin. Well, I've never seen a dragon up close but if I had, it would look like this! 😉

Fairy Wings - This has several amazing iridescent colors on top of a purple-ish iridescent backdrop, just like fairy wings!!! Of course, I have seen those! lol!

Midnight Magic - Black and Royal blue swirls of midnight magic. (Because fairies always play at midnight!)

Light it up during the day and then it ...wait for it...GLOWS IN THE DARK!

Kiss of the Fairy - Imagine if a fairy kissed you on the forehead, I think she would leave a little fairy magic behind!

This color would make a gorgeous holographic lip gloss and it also GLOWS IN THE DARK!
