40 to 40 #2 - Let it Snow

This Monochromatic Card is one of my favourites.

Over the years it has evolved; the images and text have changed, the size has been altered and the number of mats have increased and decreased. But this is so easy and has a stunning impact.

So let's get started.

I started with 1/4 of an 8.5" x 11" Arctic White  100lb cardstock.

Stamped the Moose where I wanted so I could build a scene around him.

I used the Take 1Summer CampEx-Stream and Large Circle stamps.

for the Take 1, I inked the image once and stamped twice, with the second image higher and offset.

I used the Summer Camp and Large Round stamp to stamp the image and then create a mirror and re-stamp the flipped image. to do this use a permanent ink and stamp Summer Camp onto the circle, then, while the ink is wet, flip the circle to stamp the card stock. (Practice first, it may take a couple of tries to get the hang of it but once you do, creating mirror images will be easy).

Now that your image is ready grab your Xyron Creative Station with permanent adhesive, place the image face down and roll through. Remove the paper and plastic from the adhesive, the face of the image will be sticky.

Use Iridescent Shimmer Embossing powder (it's fine and because it's not straight glitter, I feel the winter image has more impact and a softer look), and pour it over the adhesive. Tap it off and use your finger to burnish (rub in and brush off) the excess adhesive. DO NOT HEAT the powder, it stays just like this.

Then Stamp your favourite phrase on a 1" x 4.25", I chose Let it Snow.

Then start  cutting the matting layers.

The Card base is Arctic white card stock 8.5" x 10.75" (yes I trimmed it down with my Fiskars Cutter),  and I layered the Black piece at 8" x 10.25"

I matted the Let it snow with 1.25" x 4.5" black core'dinations paper and 1.5" x 4.75" White Cardstock.

And the moose scene with is  4.5" x 5.75" Black and 4.75" x 6" White Cardstock

I took the White pieces and used my Ranger Ink Emboss It Dabber to ink the edges, applied Hammered Metal Embossing powder and heated until I had a nice smooth finish for the frame.

Then I Grabbed by Scotch ATG Tape Gun, and stared taping all of the layers together for each size.

Now center them side to side and space them top to bottom according to your preferred look. I liked a little more black at the bottom and between the image and word and less black at the top.
