Oh how I love Winter and Christmas!

I saw the Trinket Box by Eileen Hull and Sizzix and knew exactly what I was making.......

A SHAKER BOX!

LOL as you will see - this went a totally different direction.
There was a Santa Soap Mold i just had to lay with.

The first thing is to heat the powder in a measuring cup. I chose Spiced Candy and Midnight Merlot
Tip: lots of smaller amounts added to the cup are faster then trying the full amount at once.

Pour the powder into the mold. If you are asking why I used Embossing Powder, its because it sets up in minutes not hours. And oh how wonderful that smell of cinnamon is.

Next I worked on how I wanted to cover my trinket box. I saw this silly "backsplash" sticker I bought from the dollar store. As a backsplash application, its crap, but as a faux brick chimney backer - AMAZING! Combine this with the Seasonal Impressions cardstock and it was magic.

Once I had the pieces cut, I ran them through my Xyron Creative Station with the permanent sticker adhesive and began to adhere them to the box.

I realized I had too much white still showing and used the Ebony Colorbox blend to blacken and distress the exposed white, then continued to adhere the papers. Then I lightly brushed the raised areas with the blender and bit too dull the chimney rock too.

Behind the Santa Mold, I covered the backer piece with the Midnight Merlot embossing powder. Note: when you hot glue the cast Santa to the backer, the hot glue will lightly melt the embossing powder so don't apply too much presser or the piece will slide off the center point of the card. 😉

Once it all set and cooled, I thickened a spot of EP inside the flap, inked up the MC from Canada Stamp, and while the powder was still warm, pressed the sentiment into the powder for de-bossed or seal style impression.

Last touches were to add the Believe Buckle to a ribbon and tie it on, touch up the frame with a black chord and some Pine Cone Charms, and add the 4 Hole button to the Side to create a latch. I also felt the Santa detail didn't pop enough so I used the Coconut Colorbox Blend to accent the beard, eyebrows and hat, which worked perfectly.

I had hoped the chocolate I ordered would have arrived in time for me to make the holiday goodies I am planning to fill the box with, so it can be a little gift box to give away.

Hello everyone, Livia here with
This months theme "Thankful"

This project was fun to put together, I'm very
Happy with the outcome,
I'm in love with the neutral colors, and the
Embossing just gives it that little extra shine,
Here are my steps:
First I stamped a swirl with versa mark and embossed
It with Burnt copper leaves, Canadian Maple and
Just Java in the right bottom corner
Second I embossed the letters in Thankful and the
Arrow with Burnt Copper Leaves

Thirdly I arranged my flowers and embellishments
To where I wanted them and adhered everything
My final step I used versa mark around the edges
And embossed using Burnt Copper Leaves, Canadian Maple
And Just Java Also if you notice the pumpkins also have
A little embossing too.
I will list the EC products used below
Thanks for viewing ❤

Stephanie

Stephanie here to share with you My Thankful project with you. I wanted to go a little outside the box with this one. I made a mixed media tag featuring one thing I am truly thankful for... COFFEE!! I know there are others out there that are with me on this one.

The Blend Stamp designed by Pam Bray Designs by Emerald Creek was  the inspiration for my tag. To keep with the coffee theme I stamped the images with coffee Archival Ink and sprinkled Just Java Aroma embossing powder. Oh my it smells delightfully yummy!

I wanted to give the mason jar an antique glass feel and Vintage Beeswax was the perfect Embossing Powder choice.

I colored the coffee beans, jar label and wooden table with alcohol markers in the shades coffee bean and soft brown

To continue my thankfulness for coffee I painted my tag with latte themed watercolors. I spritzed the tag with water and randomly applied colors.

I wanted to add a lil interest to the tags. I flicked the alcohol marker brush tip in its own cap. Quick and easy way to add some visual texture.

Next I inked the edges of the tag.

Add some dimensional foam tape on the back to lift the stamped image up a bit.

Apply coffee bean jar to the painted tag. Only thing left to do is add some coordinating fibers and tie on the jar lid with My thankful for coffee quote. The tag is perfect to add to a gift for your favorite coffee fiend and book lover.

Thankful... by Karla

Karla

Hello! Karla here today with a Thanksgiving scrapbook layout and process video for this month's Thankful Challenge! I have so many things to be thankful for, but one of the most important thing is my family, so I decided to share a layout using photos from our Thanksgiving Dinner, which was in October since I live in Canada. I went with a non-traditional colour scheme (for me anyways!) and really love how this turned out. After you check out all the closeup pics you'll see a link to a video where you can see the full process.

I used some of the wonderful aromatic Black Cherry embossing powder to emboss stitched lines around the border of my layout. The texture actually creates a stitched look, and it smells amazing!

This Vintage Time Piece stamp by Emerald Creek is one of my favourites! Be sure to check out the video below where you can see how I created a painted background and then embossed over top for a custom look.

I even coordinated a flower I found in my stash with inks and powders - so many possibilities!

I really love how these leaves turned out stamped with the Emerald Creek Maple Leaf Stamp - the Dragon's Egg and Patina Oxide powders look gorgeous together.

Here's the Process Video where you can see exactly how I created this layout as well as some tricks and tips!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the Thankful Challenge, and hope you have an awesome week ahead!!

Hugs,
Karla
