It is Done!
Sometimes I think I need to shut my brain off. Why I felt the need to pursue the Tartan absolutely escapes me.
BUT.....
It's Finished.
I started with the Clearly for Art Modelling Film by Wendy Vecchi of course. (It seems to be my favorite medium). Then I grabbed Studio 90 Texture paste and spread it over the film and used my Ranger Texture tool #4 to create the grooves one direction. Then I used the backside to drag down lines in a cross pattern to create a basic weave idea. A little spray stain and drying time. then some Distress paint over the film and more drying time. Now here's where I ruined a few attempts. First i painted the backside, too solid. Then the mini lines, too messy. Then a few lines of colour on the front, plus silver cross lines and a blend of distress crayons on the back. The Colour is a little too dull and flat so a layer of Clear Gloss Embossing Powder (by emerald creek) mounted on white card stock and...WOOO HOOO success.

then came the hard part, what am i to do with a purple, green and yellow tartan? I know pull out almost every piece of paper to layer and head in a horribly disorganized direction. STOP. Rewind. The tartan looks good vertical but I can't finish it off. How about horizontal?
I like that, ooo and I have some Tim Holtz, Idea-ology washi tape with music I can use to fasten the tartan to some Old Paper Coredinations Distress. It needs a mat. Pumice Stone Paper. Perfect.
Maybe not..
A sheet of Purple from Stampin up. for the folded backer done. Nope, maybe add a black mat. Something is still missing. How about another cream layer. FINALLY!
Lets start to assemble.
Now I'm on a wave of my Scottish heritage now, I can here bagpipes BUT i don't have a stamp of those, I do have a violin stamp and charm.
Hmmm the violin stamp is too small. Humming Bird with Music notes (by emerald creek), Perfect!
Now Flowers, the state flower is a thistle...Okay?! Wait I have some ancient dried flowers from the Eighties, Yep there are some thistle looking things.
Hot Glue some dried flowers from the set my mommy gave me,
Some additional Filigree Leaves (by emerald creek) and more Eighties dried flowers and Violà... We have success!!
I'm not sure what occasion I will use this for so I have left the sentiment off for now.
And that's a wrap on this crazy gals, crazy challenge.
